Program Notes

A peony is a large beautiful flower. These flowers are seen in a variety of colors from Pink, red and purple to yellow and white. The flowers have a very short blooming period, lasting only about 7-10 days. They generally are only available in the late spring or early summer due to their very short blooming period. The peony was the primary flower used in the composer’s wedding, and this song was written for his wife.
