Rehearsal Notes
  • Every instrument has the melody or a feature at some point in the song, with most parts doubled

  • Measure 43 to the end has the melody split between all instruments, changing every measure or two. As a result, students need to be aware when their part is the melody so they can bring that part to the forefront.

  • Percussion parts are written so each part can be played by a single player, but can also be divided up for larger percussion sections.

  • Advanced Snare Drum is optional, and only difference is the presence of 16th notes

  • Measures 40, 41, and 42 are spoken parts, said loud enough for the audience to hear.

Program Notes

Old Macdonald had a little accident. He tripped while working on his farm and hit his head. Now he is a little bit confused and can’t remember his song. He can’t remember which animals are on the farm, or if he is in a galaxy far, far away being chased by sharks.
