Rehearsal Notes
Every instrument has the melody or a feature at some point in the song, with most parts doubled
Measure 43 to the end has the melody split between all instruments, changing every measure or two. As a result, students need to be aware when their part is the melody so they can bring that part to the forefront.
Percussion parts are written so each part can be played by a single player, but can also be divided up for larger percussion sections.
Advanced Snare Drum is optional, and only difference is the presence of 16th notes
Measures 40, 41, and 42 are spoken parts, said loud enough for the audience to hear.
Program Notes
Old Macdonald had a little accident. He tripped while working on his farm and hit his head. Now he is a little bit confused and can’t remember his song. He can’t remember which animals are on the farm, or if he is in a galaxy far, far away being chased by sharks.
